#1 ◱ Looking East, from the driveway towards the Lanai.
#2 ◱ The Lanai. Don is opening the door to the room.
#3 ◱ The bathroom is on the right and the room is on the left. You have an "exercise gym" outside your room. :-)
#4 ◱ The view from the lanai eastward into the back yard. Chickens are wild.
#5 ◱ Here is the inside of the door looking out onto the lanai. We have a six-foot banquet table available for your room, but right now it has mattresses on it. Feel free to move all the furniture around to your liking. You can also paint or put things on the walls.
#6 ◱ Here is the East and South wall. The picture hides an electrical panel. You can get your own picture if you find something you like better or you can take it down and look at the electrical panel. :-) I haven't gotten a pillow into the pillowcase yet. Also my mom didn't like the glare from the window so we covered it with aluminum foil. Cool, huh? You can leave it or take it down.
#10 ◱ So here's the north wall and on the other side is the bathroom. You can get hot water really fast. Notice the cool feature of this room.... the solar hot water tanks. The pump makes noise when the sun is out. Don thinks you could get used to it.
#11 ◱ The second shelving unit contains a fridge and microwave. If it works, we'll also bring down a tv/dvd player. We have no tv reception, but we have lots of dvds if you ever have time or desire to watch any. The microwave is small, but will work for lots of things.
#12 ◱ You are welcome to use the kitchen upstairs, but this way it's easier to have independence or midnight snacks. :-) You can also have parties if you wish on the lanai or upstairs. Please tell us when possible, and we prefer to have low noise after 10pm for the neighbors sake. Sep 6 and Dec 11 there are already activities planned on the lanai.
#13 ◱ Small microwave and fridge. Frozen food does not last long in it.
#14 ◱ The shower is a "walk in". There is also a bench, and a plastic tower with drawers for your belongings.
#15 ◱ Closeup of the outside door to the bathroom off the lanai.
#16 ◱ The rest of the bathroom. You'll notice that the cabinet has saggy doors. A recent flood (Dec 11, 2008) ruined the nice new doors, that were made of particle board, obviously not a very good grade. The whole downstairs can flood when it rains too much or too fast. It has happened about three times in the 16 years we have lived here. I'm sure you know that Laie is in a flood zone. Usually it's not too deep, but you should keep all belongings off the floor, just in case, unless you want to risk them getting wet. Back in the room you'll notice that things are elevated, including the outlets and the hot-water tanks. If a flood happens, you can move upstairs until it is cleaned up. But we thought you might prefer the independence the downstairs offers.
#17 ◱ Here's a floorplan. It will have a bed and table in it also.
